Stonechat Bothy

Sleat Peninsula, Isle of Skye

A secluded escape for two on a wildlife filled croft.

Mountain views, sunrises, fire-pit and log-burner.

Welcome in. Unlace your boots, loosen your shoulders and take in the view: pine and birch, heather and wildflowers, moor and mountain. Depths of nothing but Scottish countryside. Step outside and breathe deep; let the light and beauty of the island wash over you. No need to do anything other than simply be. Your time is yours.

A stay on Skye deserves space and serenity, and at Stonechat Bothy you’ll find plenty of both. Surrounded by nature and lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s a place of calm and quiet, an elegant one-bedroom retreat with a modern kitchen and a large, lovingly furnished living area.

From local artworks and deep bedding to underfloor heating and a well-stocked log burner – using our own, croft grown firewood – we’ve worked hard to create the perfect home from home. A secluded outdoor seating area, complete with fire pit, makes a wonderful spot to listen to birdsong over a morning coffee, to enjoy an evening dram while staring out at distant Munros, or to wrap yourself in one of our cosy blankets and gaze up at the twinkling night sky.

The bothy sits within a wildlife-rich croft on the sweepingly handsome Sleat Peninsula. We have the pleasure of looking after this croft to maximise its biodiversity, and continue its provision of food, fuel and fibre.

Our arrival and departure days are Mondays and Fridays, allowing you to stay for three nights, four nights, a week or even longer. We’re hugely proud of the positive feedback we receive from guests – and we very much hope you’ll feel the same about this hidden, unrushed corner of Skye.
